Answer each of the following by giving a Null and Alternate hypothesis for each test and a proper conclusion related to the problem at hand. You may calculate manually or use the computer to obtain test results.
1. A sample of 23 Brand A 16 oz. yogurt cups produced the mean number of calories equal to 48 with a standard deviation of 3 calories.
A sample of 19 Brand B 16 oz. yogurt cups produced the mean number of calories equal to 43 with a standard deviation of 3.4 calories.
Assume that the number of calories per 16 oz. yogurt cup for Brands A and B are normally distributed with equal variances.
Test at the .01 level of significance if the mean number of number of calories for Brand A 16 oz. yogurt cups is greater than the mean calories for Brand B 16 oz. yogurt cups.
